In Search For Hope And Their Future Through The Bleak Moment - Covid-19
I am working on the story
For almost 2 years, I have been covering the plight of captive elephants since the beginning of the pandemic. This project is funded by the National Geographic Society.
In a summer night, the Chiang Mai city is silent and eerie as a shut down of businesses during the pandemic. Chompoo, the pregnant elephant has recently left the city with her other two friends and their Karen indigenous mahouts for a five-day journey on foot. They leave the tourist site and go through the mountains of northern Thailand to the unfamiliar environment called their home. Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. May 2020.
